2Good watch but disappointed  Nov 20, 2007
By David T. Abell
I was looking for a watch with both analog and digital outputs. I found this one that fit the bill. It wasn't very expensive so if it bit the dust at work I wouldn't mind too much. The only problem I found was the dial window. It's plastic. Soft plastic. Unfortunaly only a week after buying the watch I already had several scratches on the face that made it more difficult to see the face. If the dial window was more resilient I would be very happy with the watch and give it 4 or 5 stars but as it stands it gets a 2... barely.

4Great watch!  Sep 23, 2007
By Gabriel's Buddy
Great watch with many great features. I love the size of the digital layout and the metal band is durable. To resize the band, push out the pins from the side that looks like screws.

Pros: Accurate, good looking, multiple alarms, timer, and stop-watch.

Cons: Metal band latch sometimes deforms, making it hard to latch. You have to bend it a certain way to make it work. The analog hands sometimes get out of sync with the digital time. You can fix that easily, but annoying sometimes. Lastly, at night you can't use the watch features. There is a light, but it occupies a button used for setting alarms and such. So if you are setting your alarm, you can't see the display. Timex has a night feature that, once enabled, turns the light on with every button press. My former watch had it and it was a very handy feature.

Great for the price.

5Initial impression: Great watch for the price  Jan 19, 2008

I lost my casio edifice watch and decided to get this watch since it had all of the features that I needed (time zones, alarm, display date/day, etc.). The watch arrived the other day and so I thought that I would contribute my initial thoughts since I found the other reviews here to be useful.

This is a very solid and good looking watch. The display is easy to read with large numbers/letters and a bright back light, much better than the casio that I lost (and half the price!). Setting it up was very easy and it is comfortable. I prefer a metal band to the resin bands on the other version of this watch. The band is solid and easy to adjust (wikihow has a brief article on adjusting the band called "Adjust-a-Casio-S-935L-Watch-Band").

The watch is thicker than most of the previous watches that I have had. At first I was concerned about this, but now that I've worn it for a while, I don't really notice.

I haven't had it long enough to notice scratches on the watch face.

I like the watch and would buy it again.

2Cheap construction  Dec 29, 2007
By mkm
Strap is either too loose or too tight, because the links are a little too big. Its hard to adjust at home and needs to be taken to a watch repair shop.
Material used for construction of the body is cheap painted plastic that gets scratched very easily. The dial window is claimed to be "Mineral" but it certainly doesnt feel like that to the touch, and again scratches very easily.
Seems to be showing accurate time so far, but then casio electronics are generally reliable.
I would go for a more expensive casio model in the future which have better construction.

5Very good looking  May 07, 2006
By R. Hudda
Update ** 5/7/07
While this is a really beautiful watch, and functioned well for the last year or so, and will definitely continue to function extremely well, there are visible signs of wear due to cheaper material used in this particular casio model (not typical in more expensive models). So I would rather buy another casio retailing at Amazon for 50+ which uses quality material.

Its one of the best looking metal band casios.
I like the fact that it allows you to choose constant display of Day or Date/Month. I would have liked a choice of Day and Date, but unfortunately thats not a choice.

Its light weight, very good looking, allows you to illuminate the display in the dark, has a stop watch, alarm, and worl time. Almost everything I would look for in a watch, at an unbeatable price.

Since this is my 5th Casio over a period of 7 years, I can tell that the quality of Casio watches is awesome. The only reason I changed my watches were:
1) Two of my resin band watches broke (strap). Watch was functional till the day I stopped using and even today, they just need a
2) One of my metal band was lost.
3) I finally got tired of my last Casio watch, so I decided to go for a change.

I believe this one will last another couple of years b4 I get bored, but I am sure it will be hard to top this one's good looks.

I purchased from chelsea and it arrived in 2 days, since I orderd it in NY, and they are from NY

The Importance Of Lighting In Interior Design

   by Jessica Ackerman

Everyone knows how important paint color, furniture choices and artwork are to interior design. One aspect of design that is often overlooked, however, is lighting. Lighting not only affects the brightness of the room, but it can also change the way a paint color looks, cast shadows in ways that make the room seem smaller and have an impact on the presentation of art work.

There is no light like natural light. If you are buying, building or remodeling, opt for as much natural light as possible. Oversized windows and skylights are two ways to get the most natural light. Of course, not everyone is in the position to be able to do that, so you'll have to work with what you have.

How much natural light do you get in your room? If the room in question faces north, you won't get as much natural sunlight as you would in a southern facing room. Rooms that face south get bright, natural light throughout the day. Rooms that face east will only have good natural light in the morning hours and western facing rooms will have the most light during the afternoon.

Once you are familiar with how much natural light is in each room, you'll be able to make informed choices about what additional lighting may be necessary. Keep in mind that rooms with little or no natural light will need artificial lighting - even during the day - in order to look their best. Here are some types of lighting to consider.

1. Accent Lighting

Accent lighting is perfect when you want to showcase a piece of art or a special piece of furniture or other item. Since light draws the eye, it will bring attention to the features in your room that you wish to highlight.

2. Hanging Light Features

Chandeliers and smaller hanging lamps can be beautiful as well as functional. A trip to the local home improvement store will quickly show you how overwhelming the choices can be. You'll want to select lighting that blends in with your existing décor. For example, a crystal chandelier in a country themed dining room probably isn't the best option. If you don't choose carefully, your lighting may stick out like a sore thumb and become more of an eyesore than a lovely accent.

3. Recessed Lighting

Recessed lighting is a good choice for a room that needs extra light throughout the day. Because the lighting won't interfere with the existing decor, it can work in almost any room. It provides abundant light without taking up a lot of space or interfering with other aspects of the room.

4. Lamps

Using lamps are a way to add not only additional lighting, but also punches of color. If possible, see how much light the lamp gives off before leaving the store. Many lamps serve as decoration more than as a light source and give off very little light. If you love the lamp, but it doesn't give off quite enough light, consider changing the shade which will usually solve the problem.

When decorating your home, remember how important lighting is, and give it the same thought and attention you give to the other details of decorating your home.
