5Best Bouncer!  Jan 01, 2006
By CSRED
My 6 week old hates her swing, so we were hoping this bouncer would keep her occupied. She LOVES this bouncer.

What I like about this particular bouncer:

*the overhead mobile spins to keep her attention

*there is a mirror right above her so she can easily see herself

*the side arms with cute rattle toys are within her reach (or at her current age: flailing arms).

*you can set it to play the music constantly, or only in response to when the baby hits the rattles

*the mobile and toys are within the range of focus for young infants (my swing's lights are too high above her head for her to see well)

*the stimulating overhead mobile/mirror, speakers, and side arms can be flipped down, for calming or dozing times.

3Great concept with some limitations  Nov 29, 2006
By A. Evans
My 3-month old has enjoyed this for the most part.

What I like about this bouncer:

*the overhead mobile spins to keep her attention

*there is a mirror right above her so she can easily see herself

*the side arms with cute rattle toys are within her reach and come out fairly easily when she wants to grasp them.

*you can set it to play the music constantly, or only in response to when the baby hits the rattles

*there is a large variety of songs

*the overhead mobile/mirror, speakers, and side arms can be flipped down.

*there is a vibrating option as well

*The seat cover is relatively easy to remove and launder

Limitations:

*baby has to crane her head back to see the mobile well, especially as she gets bigger.

*side arms are a little snug over baby's lap

*the whole seat cover has to come off to change the batteries

*the baby activated mode doesn't seem to work consistently

*the rattles would be easier to hold if they were on rings instead of disks.

Overall, I'm glad that we have it, but we do not get as much time out of it as some of our other entertainers.

5No Sound??? Read this review!  Jun 18, 2007
By Brigette Almizyed "funnism"
We just received this bouncer a few days ago and after Hubby put it together, thought we had a defective unit as the sound would not work. I have seen others on here say that they had the same problem. I have just discovered today that to operate the music you have to turn the speakers toward the baby until they SNAP into place. THEN the music will play. Just turning them inward will not cause it to operate, it must be snapped into position. Hope this helps others who have the same dilemma. :-)

2Does not last long. We bought two.  Apr 13, 2006
By Larry Blakeslee "Larry"
We bought two of these for our twin sons back in Feb 2006. They love sleeping in them and kicking in them. The babies love the music on the mirror on top. We liked that it allowed them to lay flat instead of bunching up in the other swings. We thought you got a lot for the money. We loved that it had the vibration and the mobile but in less than two months one of the mobiles on the bouncer broke and the other one makes a loud sound. I contacted Fisher Price to see if there was something we could do they were not very helpful they told us to take it back to the store (we got rid of the boxes) or to take the base and one wire leg and pay to ship it back and wait six weeks to get a replacement. We were upset that the item did not last longer and that the company is giving us a hard time about returning the item

5Best Bouncer Ever!!!!  Mar 02, 2006
By Jennifer P. Lee
I bought this bouncer to leave at my mother-in-law's because she keeps my son. My sister had given me her old bouncer which was just the old standard bouncer. He liked it okay and would stay in it for about 10 minutes without getting fussy. You can imagine my surprise the first night when I put him in this bouncer and my husband and I were able to eat dinner uninterrupted. His face just lit up when I put him in it! I took it to my mother-in-law's the next day. He uses it every day. He was about 2 1/2 months when I got it and now he is almost 4 months. He will stay in it for almost an hour now. He seems to discover something new about it every day as he develops new skills. As an example, just a few weeks ago he discovered the bee. He loves it, especially the mobile. I would HIGHLY recommend this bouncer. I read the reviews before I buy anything and I usually see where even though someone likes a product, they always seem to mention a drawback. I don't have one negative thing to say about it. If you are looking for a bouncer, either for yourself or as a gift, this is the one!

The Importance Of Lighting In Interior Design

   by Jessica Ackerman

Everyone knows how important paint color, furniture choices and artwork are to interior design. One aspect of design that is often overlooked, however, is lighting. Lighting not only affects the brightness of the room, but it can also change the way a paint color looks, cast shadows in ways that make the room seem smaller and have an impact on the presentation of art work.

There is no light like natural light. If you are buying, building or remodeling, opt for as much natural light as possible. Oversized windows and skylights are two ways to get the most natural light. Of course, not everyone is in the position to be able to do that, so you'll have to work with what you have.

How much natural light do you get in your room? If the room in question faces north, you won't get as much natural sunlight as you would in a southern facing room. Rooms that face south get bright, natural light throughout the day. Rooms that face east will only have good natural light in the morning hours and western facing rooms will have the most light during the afternoon.

Once you are familiar with how much natural light is in each room, you'll be able to make informed choices about what additional lighting may be necessary. Keep in mind that rooms with little or no natural light will need artificial lighting - even during the day - in order to look their best. Here are some types of lighting to consider.

1. Accent Lighting

Accent lighting is perfect when you want to showcase a piece of art or a special piece of furniture or other item. Since light draws the eye, it will bring attention to the features in your room that you wish to highlight.

2. Hanging Light Features

Chandeliers and smaller hanging lamps can be beautiful as well as functional. A trip to the local home improvement store will quickly show you how overwhelming the choices can be. You'll want to select lighting that blends in with your existing décor. For example, a crystal chandelier in a country themed dining room probably isn't the best option. If you don't choose carefully, your lighting may stick out like a sore thumb and become more of an eyesore than a lovely accent.

3. Recessed Lighting

Recessed lighting is a good choice for a room that needs extra light throughout the day. Because the lighting won't interfere with the existing decor, it can work in almost any room. It provides abundant light without taking up a lot of space or interfering with other aspects of the room.

4. Lamps

Using lamps are a way to add not only additional lighting, but also punches of color. If possible, see how much light the lamp gives off before leaving the store. Many lamps serve as decoration more than as a light source and give off very little light. If you love the lamp, but it doesn't give off quite enough light, consider changing the shade which will usually solve the problem.

When decorating your home, remember how important lighting is, and give it the same thought and attention you give to the other details of decorating your home.
