It's Not About the Money

The valuable lesson contained in this book is that the best way to attract prosperity is to abandon the pursuit of wealth and allow it to flow toward oneself. The ancient laws of attraction are explained in plain language and applied in an economic framework—a new perspective not found in other popular explications of these principles. A path to prosperity is offered in tandem with guidance for achieving harmony in both professional and personal spheres while strategies to overcome destructive thinking patterns and to sustain the flow of wealth while channeling it constructively are delineated. Profiles of individuals who pursued their passion rather than profit, and subsequently reaped immense rewards, will inspire those seeking to transform their lives.

5Learning from Bob Proctor over coffee! A must experience!  Jun 16, 2009
By Craig Mattice
This is a brand new book by renowned author Bob Proctor, published in 2008. I actually had to add it to the catalog of Facebook's Visual Bookshelf program.

I found this book enjoyable, down to earth, full of common sense and positive authoritative guidance and direction. It is like speaking to Bob Proctor over coffee in his home.

The book deals with a primary premise that "Money is not the goal." It is the result of many factors and the most important is our internal belief, thinking, and attitude toward money, prosperity, and wealth.

A very friendly well designed and presented book including 10 well written chapters in this 166 page paperback. The quality of this book's contents and authority of the author can be summed up in a quote from Jack Canfield. "If you're smart, you will read this book. Since I started applying Bob Proctor's principles and strategies in my life, my net worth has multiplied 40 times! Now this master teacher has put his best wisdom and insights into this great book."

Need I say more, other than I wholly recommend this book to everyone interested in abundance, prosperity, success, wealth building, personal development and growth.

By Norman Lacasse
I read the book within 2 days. Could hardly put it down. Very much to the point. No sugar coating. I love when Bob Proctor says : "If you are not giving your dream the time it needs to fit into your life, then, the dream will never become your life". Stunning !

5A realistic approach to getting rich!  Oct 24, 2010
By The Cheap Diva
While other "think rich" books practically promise that thinking "happy" thoughts about money will cause bundles of cash to fall from the sky and land on your head, Bob Proctor offers realistic strategies to overcome poor thinking patterns and behaviors in favor of more positive and profitable ones. He uses a common sense approach to everything from believing in your own potential, to goal setting to eliminating excuses.

In such an unstable job market, his emphasis on having multiple streams of income is one survival strategy everyone should adopt. My only criticism is the way he talks about multiple streams of income from media products which suggests that creating a web site or blog and writing a book guarantees the money will just come flowing in. As a blogger and the author of The Cheap Diva's Guide to Frugal and Fabulous Living: How to Shop Smart, Look Your Best, Decorate with Style and Have Fun for Less Money! I know that income from a blog or a book is not automatic, it requires dedication to marketing just like any other product or service.

He explains why the right mental attitude is important to success, but Proctor does not sugarcoat the fact that in order to succeed you need to work for it. The title It's Not About the Money comes from his belief that in order to profit you need to be passionate about what you do and offer a product or service that benefits others.

Sorry, I like Bob Proctor, but this book basically covers a lot of the same ground in his other book "You Were Born Rich", which I think is better.

Have you ever read a book, and connected with the author in a unique manner based on his perspectives and success strategies. Well if you are a leadership thinker or an individual that lives his life in an unconventional manner, compared to the rest of the world, then buy the book and read it carefully, and then go back and review your notes. You will not be disappointed.

The Importance Of Lighting In Interior Design

   by Jessica Ackerman

Everyone knows how important paint color, furniture choices and artwork are to interior design. One aspect of design that is often overlooked, however, is lighting. Lighting not only affects the brightness of the room, but it can also change the way a paint color looks, cast shadows in ways that make the room seem smaller and have an impact on the presentation of art work.

There is no light like natural light. If you are buying, building or remodeling, opt for as much natural light as possible. Oversized windows and skylights are two ways to get the most natural light. Of course, not everyone is in the position to be able to do that, so you'll have to work with what you have.

How much natural light do you get in your room? If the room in question faces north, you won't get as much natural sunlight as you would in a southern facing room. Rooms that face south get bright, natural light throughout the day. Rooms that face east will only have good natural light in the morning hours and western facing rooms will have the most light during the afternoon.

Once you are familiar with how much natural light is in each room, you'll be able to make informed choices about what additional lighting may be necessary. Keep in mind that rooms with little or no natural light will need artificial lighting - even during the day - in order to look their best. Here are some types of lighting to consider.

1. Accent Lighting

Accent lighting is perfect when you want to showcase a piece of art or a special piece of furniture or other item. Since light draws the eye, it will bring attention to the features in your room that you wish to highlight.

2. Hanging Light Features

Chandeliers and smaller hanging lamps can be beautiful as well as functional. A trip to the local home improvement store will quickly show you how overwhelming the choices can be. You'll want to select lighting that blends in with your existing décor. For example, a crystal chandelier in a country themed dining room probably isn't the best option. If you don't choose carefully, your lighting may stick out like a sore thumb and become more of an eyesore than a lovely accent.

3. Recessed Lighting

Recessed lighting is a good choice for a room that needs extra light throughout the day. Because the lighting won't interfere with the existing decor, it can work in almost any room. It provides abundant light without taking up a lot of space or interfering with other aspects of the room.

4. Lamps

Using lamps are a way to add not only additional lighting, but also punches of color. If possible, see how much light the lamp gives off before leaving the store. Many lamps serve as decoration more than as a light source and give off very little light. If you love the lamp, but it doesn't give off quite enough light, consider changing the shade which will usually solve the problem.

When decorating your home, remember how important lighting is, and give it the same thought and attention you give to the other details of decorating your home.
