5Kept our winter baby warm and cozy  Jun 09, 2005
By sjr
Some thoughtful friends sent us a Bundle Me when our son was born. When initially shopping for baby items, I hadn't thought we'd need such a thing, but it was incredibly useful. The bottom half stays in the car seat, making it warm and snuggly, and the top half zips on. We left it zipped on all the time for convenience, and just varied the degree to which we zipped our son in depending on the temperature. You can keep it zipped all the way for travel to the car, and easily unzip a bit for ventilation when riding in a warm vehicle. No need for a bulky snowsuit or blankets- just throw on a hat, and when you reach your destination, baby can be unzipped in a second and is comfortably dressed for indoor temperatures. The straps of our carseat fit through the holes perfectly. If you're concerned about this, I would head into BRS and simply ask a salesperson to demonstrate the product with your carseat. Also important- the Bundle Me washes quite well. Only downside to this product for me-and it's a minor point- is that I sometimes preferred carrying my son in a Snugli while running certain errands. When we got out of the car, I would put on the Snugli and load baby in, but then needed to wrap up with warm blankets for the walk into the building, since he was only wearing indoor clothes. Not a concern when you're bringing the carseat infant carrier inside, which was most often the case for us.

As for safety concerns, I was willing to accept the information below from the product description. And where the well-being of my child is concerned, I was comforted to know that the Bundle Me prevented his catching a chill throughout our cold New England winter.

"In line with JJ Cole's commitment to child safety, the Bundle Me has been tested to FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) 213 requirements. All tests passed on the child restraint system, indicating that the Bundle Me product appeared to have little to no effect on the performance of the child restraint system."

4Great for cold climates  Jan 20, 2005
By S. Shipway "Ty's Mom"
I would suggest the Bundle Me for anyone who has an infant car seat as opposed to a convertible car seat. If you can take the car seat out of your car, this is very useful. If you need to bring the child out to the car and take him out of it, you still need to bundle him up in something else. It's also really great for strollers. I love it and so does my son. He pulls it up and snuggles into it.

5How could I have done without this?  Feb 27, 2005
By Mom to J
Excellent product, saves time, and money! How? You don't spend money on snowsuits, sweaters, mittens or thick clothing, only to be quickly outgrown, having to be replaced. I put a hat on my son, and put him in the Bundle me, where he stays warm and sometimes even sweats.
Please bear in mind that you do need a hat.

It fits well in the Graco Snugride infant carseat, and I think it should be okay in other seats. I like it that my baby can go out in whatever he is wearing at home, so long as I put him in this. When it's warm in the car, in the store or when I reach home and I don't want to disturb his sleep, I unzip at the sides as appropriate - as little as or as much as I want.

The one problem I see is that I usually tuck the sides of the cover round the sides of my sons head. However when he is active or simply playful, he beats off the cover with his hands, and I usually have to calm him so he leaves the cover in place before I venture into the cold. If you have a very active baby you may want to bear this in mind.

It's becoming a favorite shower gift from me to friends. It makes life easy for me and the thought of going out in the winter months is less daunting.

1caution from dr.  Feb 03, 2005
By Erin Bojun "teacher"
I had a bundle me attached to my baby's car seat and the hospital asked me not to use it. They said that the fabric does not always line up with the seatbelt holes in the car seat and that extra bulky fabric under the baby can cause the belt to have a little too much slack. They wanted the seatbelt to be snug to the baby and the baby to be snug to the carseat. They also said that the baby would most likely over-heat when this much fabric is under their little body in the car. The hospital staff reccomended the car seat cover that went on the outside of the car seat and was not under the baby's body. I was concerned after these warnings and exchanged the car seat cover for one that was on the outside/top of the seat only, not under the baby.

2The Fleece Comes Off  Sep 20, 2005
By Krista
The fleece (polyester) that lines the inside comes off so easily. My little one had it all over her hands. I didn't want her to swallow it or inhale it so I sent it back. I use the Bundle Me Lite and that works great...no fuzzies that come off.

The Importance Of Lighting In Interior Design

   by Jessica Ackerman

Everyone knows how important paint color, furniture choices and artwork are to interior design. One aspect of design that is often overlooked, however, is lighting. Lighting not only affects the brightness of the room, but it can also change the way a paint color looks, cast shadows in ways that make the room seem smaller and have an impact on the presentation of art work.

There is no light like natural light. If you are buying, building or remodeling, opt for as much natural light as possible. Oversized windows and skylights are two ways to get the most natural light. Of course, not everyone is in the position to be able to do that, so you'll have to work with what you have.

How much natural light do you get in your room? If the room in question faces north, you won't get as much natural sunlight as you would in a southern facing room. Rooms that face south get bright, natural light throughout the day. Rooms that face east will only have good natural light in the morning hours and western facing rooms will have the most light during the afternoon.

Once you are familiar with how much natural light is in each room, you'll be able to make informed choices about what additional lighting may be necessary. Keep in mind that rooms with little or no natural light will need artificial lighting - even during the day - in order to look their best. Here are some types of lighting to consider.

1. Accent Lighting

Accent lighting is perfect when you want to showcase a piece of art or a special piece of furniture or other item. Since light draws the eye, it will bring attention to the features in your room that you wish to highlight.

2. Hanging Light Features

Chandeliers and smaller hanging lamps can be beautiful as well as functional. A trip to the local home improvement store will quickly show you how overwhelming the choices can be. You'll want to select lighting that blends in with your existing décor. For example, a crystal chandelier in a country themed dining room probably isn't the best option. If you don't choose carefully, your lighting may stick out like a sore thumb and become more of an eyesore than a lovely accent.

3. Recessed Lighting

Recessed lighting is a good choice for a room that needs extra light throughout the day. Because the lighting won't interfere with the existing decor, it can work in almost any room. It provides abundant light without taking up a lot of space or interfering with other aspects of the room.

4. Lamps

Using lamps are a way to add not only additional lighting, but also punches of color. If possible, see how much light the lamp gives off before leaving the store. Many lamps serve as decoration more than as a light source and give off very little light. If you love the lamp, but it doesn't give off quite enough light, consider changing the shade which will usually solve the problem.

When decorating your home, remember how important lighting is, and give it the same thought and attention you give to the other details of decorating your home.
