5Keep the pink!!  Feb 26, 2008
By www.TheBestMoms.com
We got this for each of my daughters this Valentine's Day instead of candy. I have one tom boy, classic Lego enthusiast and one pink loving Little Princess. They BOTH were super excited to get this set! My tom boy loved the new colors and she built a house right away, my princess loved the pink and made a princess and a flower garden right away. I hope Lego continues with the pink sets-they are awesome and they do not go against the classic lego style. I find the other 'girl geared' sets a bit off putting-why do they have to change the block shapes, etc. to appeal to girls? This is a much more appealing alternative-Good Job Lego!!

5A fun Little Set  Mar 26, 2008
By Joshua Koppel
My daughter's Belville sets have provided a lot of fun but they are rather thin on regular block pieces so I bought this set to go along with them.

This is a very nice set. Packaged in a storage tub with plenty of extra room my daughter's other sets could be easily combined with this one. Pieces are in a lot of interesting colors; three different pinks, bright blue, bright green, yellow, white, red and some others. A nice selection of block shapes as well as some special pieces (windows, door, flowers and an ice cream sundae).

The clear instructions show how to build an adorable little cottage as well as showing many other figures. My daughter has been having a grand time with this set and wants more like it. Check it out.

5Great LITTLE Starter Box  Oct 21, 2008
By archaeoamy
Great starter box for a 4-6 yr.-old girl. Our 4 yr. old kept getting into her brother's legos, much to their dismay, so she got this for her birthday. The only difference with this box set are the light and dark pink bricks (not that many included, but enough to be "girlish"). Other colors included are the regular colors produced by lego. She plays with it non-stop (even brothers use some of the pieces). However, 200-something pieces is NOT that many, considering over 100 of them are smaller than the 4-square brick. Luckily our dtr. can use her brother's legos to supplement. If this is your first set, I would get on to [...] buy a few more bags of pink legos.

3Small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Sep 22, 2009
By Sonya M. Owens "GhostHunter"
I ordered this thinking it would be a big box of Legos. I was wrong. I never thought to look at the measurements before ordering. The shipping box was so light, my UPS man thought there was nothing in the box, so we opened it on my front porch. Sure enough, there it was, a teeny tiny box. My HP Photosmart printer is bigger than this box. It has some really cool blocks in it, but I ended up getting the blue box as well to compensate for them being "small". I wish I would have read the reviews here beofre ordering, but I ordered on another website.

5Great Addition To Any Lego Set  Jul 15, 2010
By C. Frey
I bought this set along with the 'Large Pink Brick Box' to supplement my families Lego collection. My 4 year old daughter kept asking for pink legos. She refuses to mix the new pink Legos with our other lego. She wants to keep them separete. I would not recommend this as a first lego set unless you are buying more than one because there just isn't alot of pieces in it.

For pink bricks it includes:

Light Pink
14 - 2x4
6 - 2x3
10 - 1x2
4 - 1x1
4 - 1x1 Circle Plate

Bright Pink
2 - 1x2 Sloped (roof)
8 - 2x2
2 - 1x1

Dark Pink
8 - 2x4 Sloped (roof)
4 - 1x2

The Importance Of Lighting In Interior Design

   by Jessica Ackerman

Everyone knows how important paint color, furniture choices and artwork are to interior design. One aspect of design that is often overlooked, however, is lighting. Lighting not only affects the brightness of the room, but it can also change the way a paint color looks, cast shadows in ways that make the room seem smaller and have an impact on the presentation of art work.

There is no light like natural light. If you are buying, building or remodeling, opt for as much natural light as possible. Oversized windows and skylights are two ways to get the most natural light. Of course, not everyone is in the position to be able to do that, so you'll have to work with what you have.

How much natural light do you get in your room? If the room in question faces north, you won't get as much natural sunlight as you would in a southern facing room. Rooms that face south get bright, natural light throughout the day. Rooms that face east will only have good natural light in the morning hours and western facing rooms will have the most light during the afternoon.

Once you are familiar with how much natural light is in each room, you'll be able to make informed choices about what additional lighting may be necessary. Keep in mind that rooms with little or no natural light will need artificial lighting - even during the day - in order to look their best. Here are some types of lighting to consider.

1. Accent Lighting

Accent lighting is perfect when you want to showcase a piece of art or a special piece of furniture or other item. Since light draws the eye, it will bring attention to the features in your room that you wish to highlight.

2. Hanging Light Features

Chandeliers and smaller hanging lamps can be beautiful as well as functional. A trip to the local home improvement store will quickly show you how overwhelming the choices can be. You'll want to select lighting that blends in with your existing décor. For example, a crystal chandelier in a country themed dining room probably isn't the best option. If you don't choose carefully, your lighting may stick out like a sore thumb and become more of an eyesore than a lovely accent.

3. Recessed Lighting

Recessed lighting is a good choice for a room that needs extra light throughout the day. Because the lighting won't interfere with the existing decor, it can work in almost any room. It provides abundant light without taking up a lot of space or interfering with other aspects of the room.

4. Lamps

Using lamps are a way to add not only additional lighting, but also punches of color. If possible, see how much light the lamp gives off before leaving the store. Many lamps serve as decoration more than as a light source and give off very little light. If you love the lamp, but it doesn't give off quite enough light, consider changing the shade which will usually solve the problem.

When decorating your home, remember how important lighting is, and give it the same thought and attention you give to the other details of decorating your home.
