TETON Sports Bookbag Backpack

All this for so little? This book bag has features usually found on a pack twice the price. Two main compartment are big enough for a laptop or the largest text or notebooks. A third compartment has a ton of organizer pockets for pencils, calculator, keys, GPS, sticky notes, goodies, and yes, your iPod or MP3 player. Of course, we remembered the headphone port too. If 3 pockets isn't enough, we added a fourth mini-pocket for just about anything else. The shoulder straps include a very comfortable suspension strap system and are fully adjustable. The left shoulder strap has a cell pocket sewn onto it for quickie and easy access when you hear that custom ring. The zippers are heavy duty, will never break or snag and glide open and shut very smoothly.

  • Over 1800 cubic inches of total capacity in a 19.5" tall x 13" wide x 6" deep pack with 4 separate zippered compartments

  • Durable 600D ripstop and 600D PVC fabrics for extra long life

  • Adjustable shoulder straps to fit any size adult or child

  • Cell phone pocket on shoulder strap

  • Ipod / CD / MP3 player pocket with headphone port

5Teton Suspension System!  Feb 29, 2008
By doncole99
I decided to order this Teton (designed by Coleman) backpack based on the glowing reviews seen here and I have to agree with them all.

There's so much room to rent in this bag that you can lose items within it without even knowing the items are in there. I'm talking of items such as a DVD or even a CD wallet! It's roomy and it expands! It includes straps to keep it all securely tied together. It has super heavy duty zippers like I have never seen before in my 50+ years.

The "Suspension System" is an unusual feature in backpacks which I was curious about. Mystery revealed, at the top of both of the backstraps, is a system constructed of a piece of strong elastic and nylon strap. The elastic will stretch slightly when the backpack is subjected to a heavy load and jolts such as when walking down stairs. The nylon strap which accompanies the elastic will not stretch, so this will limit the amount of stretch in the elastic! Genious! I like it.

This is such an amazing backpack, and I am so happy with this purchase, that I want to look for things around the house and neighborhood to carry in this bag! You'll find it fun and comfortable to carry all of your stuff around in it too!

P.S. This backpack in black or red is currently $24, but in blue is $12. I like the blue one!

5its a Steal for the deal  Apr 24, 2008
By C. Shah "C. S."
I got this item for college stuff, i already have a big hefty laptop bag, but i dont carry my laptop everyday, so was looking for a small, light bag for everyday use and this is it.

--Pros:
- light weight
- sturdy
- excellent quality zippers,
- plenty of space, i can actually carry my 15.4" laptop in here too
- looks trendy
- has shoulder suspension
- has a belt to squeeze the bag if u dont have it filled completely, making it easy for carrying
- the best part, its cheap (i got blue one for 12.99 shipped)

-- Cons:
- none actually, only thing i found missing was a water bottle net on the outside.. but thats not a big deal for me..

I totally recommend this bag for school/college going crowd.

5Rough and Touch.!  Mar 28, 2008
By FloridaGirl
We have been through 3 backpacks this year. Each one we buy has fallen apart. I have a son, who likes to run, jump and play. He's 9 and his backpacks take a beating. I ordered this one because of the price, since we seem to go through so many. I am REALLY impressed. This is a heavy duty bag, it is standing up to my Sons daily use and abuse perfectly. We have only had it for a couple of months but it still looks new. I also love the suspension straps on each side of the bag. Perfect for smaller lockers, so you can cinch it in and make it smaller yet its easy to adjust for when he has more stuff to carry. It is also easy enough to adjust that my son does it on the fly. Great bag, if your on the fence about getting it..I highly recommend it.

5Excellent Backpack, Low Cost  Sep 25, 2007
By J. Callanan
I was pleasently surprised to see how well constructed this bag is. It has tons of space for just about anything. For such a value price, I was shocked to see how well this bag stands up. It even boasts some comfort features like the soft padding in the shoulder bands and a suspension system to take weight off of your shoulders. Excellent Bag especially for such a cheap price!

2Poor suspension system  Aug 04, 2009
By Victor "Are you absolutely sure there are no absolutes?"
IMPRESSION BASED ON EXPERIENCE:
I bought this bag because of the good reviews and the fact that I own a Teton Sports Fox 75+10L that I bought for about $50 a couple of years ago that is packed with quality and worth way more then $50. I thought this was going to be a great pack because is was made a Teton. I bought it to take day hiking up in the Colorado mountains where I planed to go fishing in some remote lakes. I did not need a full size back pack. I just needed a good quality little day pack to carry a lunch, water bottle, a jacket and trout fishing gear in. When I got the bag out of the box I was impressed with the heavy duty zippers. But then I looked at the shoulder straps and back padding. What a disappointment!. They were no different then my 6 year old's kindergarten school pack I bought at Wal-Mart for $7. I received the pack the day I left for Colorado so I had no chance to buy another and I had to use it. What a killer! The pack has no kind of structural support what so ever, so if you put a heavy round object in it, such as a 1 quart water bottle, it deforms the back of the pack. On the first day I hiked up a mountain from 8,200 feet to 10,600 feet to get to a lake. I had about 10 pounds of stuff in my pack with plenty of room left over. By the time I got to the lake, my back was killing me and the straps felt like razor blades cutting into my shoulders. When I took the pack off the back was bent in a U shape. I was thinking my 6 year old could use this pack when he start 1st grade in August, but if this thing cannot even handle a one quart water bottle without becoming completely deformed, what will it do with the heavy books kids have to carry these days?

PROS:
Heavy duty zippers.

CONS:
No suspension system or structural reinforcement.

BOTTOM LINE:
Unless you just like heavy duty zippers, this bag is no better then any other low quality book bag. It might do well with lightweight soft items like clothes, but it does not do well with hard heavy items like books and water bottles. For a company like Teton to produce a bag like this is a step down and bad for their brand name. Why, when for just a little more you can get a high quality full size pack from Teton, would they not put a little more structure in this bag?

The Importance Of Lighting In Interior Design

   by Jessica Ackerman

Everyone knows how important paint color, furniture choices and artwork are to interior design. One aspect of design that is often overlooked, however, is lighting. Lighting not only affects the brightness of the room, but it can also change the way a paint color looks, cast shadows in ways that make the room seem smaller and have an impact on the presentation of art work.

There is no light like natural light. If you are buying, building or remodeling, opt for as much natural light as possible. Oversized windows and skylights are two ways to get the most natural light. Of course, not everyone is in the position to be able to do that, so you'll have to work with what you have.

How much natural light do you get in your room? If the room in question faces north, you won't get as much natural sunlight as you would in a southern facing room. Rooms that face south get bright, natural light throughout the day. Rooms that face east will only have good natural light in the morning hours and western facing rooms will have the most light during the afternoon.

Once you are familiar with how much natural light is in each room, you'll be able to make informed choices about what additional lighting may be necessary. Keep in mind that rooms with little or no natural light will need artificial lighting - even during the day - in order to look their best. Here are some types of lighting to consider.

1. Accent Lighting

Accent lighting is perfect when you want to showcase a piece of art or a special piece of furniture or other item. Since light draws the eye, it will bring attention to the features in your room that you wish to highlight.

2. Hanging Light Features

Chandeliers and smaller hanging lamps can be beautiful as well as functional. A trip to the local home improvement store will quickly show you how overwhelming the choices can be. You'll want to select lighting that blends in with your existing décor. For example, a crystal chandelier in a country themed dining room probably isn't the best option. If you don't choose carefully, your lighting may stick out like a sore thumb and become more of an eyesore than a lovely accent.

3. Recessed Lighting

Recessed lighting is a good choice for a room that needs extra light throughout the day. Because the lighting won't interfere with the existing decor, it can work in almost any room. It provides abundant light without taking up a lot of space or interfering with other aspects of the room.

4. Lamps

Using lamps are a way to add not only additional lighting, but also punches of color. If possible, see how much light the lamp gives off before leaving the store. Many lamps serve as decoration more than as a light source and give off very little light. If you love the lamp, but it doesn't give off quite enough light, consider changing the shade which will usually solve the problem.

When decorating your home, remember how important lighting is, and give it the same thought and attention you give to the other details of decorating your home.
